As part of the activities of the Delta Region Universities Alliance (Tomorrow Makers), the First Winter School for Scientific Research in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Science, Tanta University, concluded today, Sunday, February 16, 2026. The school was organized in the framework of the activities held by the Delta Region Universities Alliance (Tomorrow Makers).
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President and Chairman of the Alliance; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Faculty Dean. It was attended by Prof. Zenhom Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The closing ceremony featured the presentation of recommendations from the school's sessions, including dedicating a full scientific day to lectures in a precise physics specialty; organizing a follow-up workshop on scientific research basics; repeating the school during summer vacation with practical workshops across specialties; and arranging visits to the research labs of the Physics Department.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to lecturers during the closing ceremony, in the attendance of Prof. Ali Abdel Salam, Head of the Physics Department Council; Prof. Talaat Meez, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Physics; Dr. Sherouk El-Ashry, Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics and School Supervisor; as well as faculty members, assistant staff, researchers, and participant students.
Thanks were extended to the founders of the school, graduate Salma Al-Sayed El-Nahal and student Youssef Mohamed Abdel Maaboud for their outstanding efforts in this key initiative supporting scientific research and young innovators.
