As part of the activities of the Delta Region Universities Alliance (Tomorrow Makers), the events of the First Winter School for Scientific Research in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Science, Tanta University, were inaugurated today, Saturday, February 14, 2026. This initiative enhances scientific research and develops the skills of students and researchers.

    The events were held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President and Chairman of the Alliance, and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science.

    The inauguration was attended by Prof. Zenhom Salem, Faculty Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ali Abdel Salam, Head of the Physics Department Council; Prof. Talaat Meez, Emeritus Professor at the Department; Prof. Mohamed El-Sheshtawi, Assistant Professor at the Department; Prof. Shorouk El-Ashry, Assistant Professor at the Department and Supervisor of the Winter School; and Dr. Mustafa Darwish, Lecturer at the Department; as well as student Salma El-Nahal and student Youssef Mohamed, founders of the Winter School; in addition to an elite group of faculty members, assistant staff, researchers, and students.

    The Dean emphasized that organizing the Winter School aligns with the university and faculty's commitment to promoting scientific research, honing the skills of students and researchers, and opening new avenues for learning and training in various fields of physics. This contributes to preparing distinguished scientific cadres capable of competing and innovating.

    The school's activities include a series of scientific lectures and specialized workshops presented by an elite group of professors and specialists, achieving integration between theoretical and practical aspects.
