Faculty of Science — Tanta University Wins Third Place in the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” Competition at the University Level

   The Faculty of Science — Tanta University secured third place in the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” competition at the university level during the activities of the First Environmental Forum of the Delta Region Universities Alliance, organized by Tanta University today under the slogan “Academia and Industry: Toward Bridging the Gap,” in the presence of Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities.

   The event featured the announcement of the competition results and the award ceremony, during which honors were presented by Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities; Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President; and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, affirmed that the university places great importance on environmental sustainability, noting that the competition among faculties shows a growing awareness of the importance of transitioning toward environmentally friendly educational institutions, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the role of universities in serving the community and protecting natural resources.

   For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, declared that the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” competition aims to promote a culture of sustainability within the university campus and enhance sound environmental practices. He commended the Faculty of Science for its clear efforts in environmental awareness, energy conservation, and maintaining cleanliness and green spaces.

   Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam El-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science — Tanta University, expressed her pleasure at the faculty’s achievement of this advanced position, emphasizing that this accomplishment was the result of the cooperation among faculty members, administrative staff, and students, and their commitment to implementing environmentally friendly standards. She added that the faculty seeks in the coming period to further develop its environmental sustainability system to achieve more advanced positions in the future.
