Defense of the PhD Dissertation of Researcher Omnia Hamdy, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science — Tanta University

   Researcher Omnia Hamdy Abdel Karim, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Botany and Microbiology, Faculty of Science — Tanta University, has been awarded the PhD degree from Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands, within the framework of a fully funded international PhD scholarship granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research — the Arab Republic of Egypt.

   The PhD Dissertation was successfully defended on Thursday, 29 January 2026, in the field of Algae Biotechnology, under the title: “Microalgae as a Sustainable Oil Crop.”

    This achievement marks the Faculty of Science — Tanta University’s commitment to supporting its academic staff, promoting scientific research, and encouraging international scholarships, thereby contributing to the advancement of the faculty’s and the university’s academic and research standing.
