Under the patronage of Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Tanta University, and under the supervision of Prof. Zenhom El-Said Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector — represented by the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit and the Training Unit — in cooperation with the Department of Botany, organized two workshops in the department’s Seminar Hall on firefighting techniques and laboratory safety in the Department of Botany laboratories.
The events were attended by Prof. Zenhom Salem, Faculty Vice Dean; Prof. Eman Abdel Zaher, Head of the Department of Botany; Brigadier General Osama El-Gamal, Director of Faculty Security; and a number of faculty members, assistant teaching staff members, and department employees.
The first workshop addressed firefighting methods and techniques and was delivered by Captain Nasser Wahba of the Faculty Security, with the participation of Brigadier General Osama El-Gamal. The second workshop focused on laboratory safety procedures and regulations and was delivered by Dr. Hoda Shawky, Assistant Professor in the department, and Dr. Heba Badeer, Lecturer in the department.
These events were organized in the framework of the faculty’s commitment to promoting a culture of security and safety and raising awareness of procedures for managing risks inside laboratories and university facilities.
