As part of Tanta University’s commitment to supporting and implementing the activities of the Child University Program, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Tanta Faculty of Science welcomed students of the eighth phase, Level E1, on Monday, August 24, 2026, marking the conclusion of the activities of this phase, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT).

   The students and their parents were welcomed by Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science, in the presence of Prof. Zenhom Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Amgad Salama, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ali Abdel Salam, Head of the Department of Physics; Prof. Samir Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; and Dr. Eman Bakr, the faculty’s Program Coordinator.

   The training program included a number of scientific and practical lectures. Dr. Mohamed El-Shahawy — from the Department of Physics — delivered a lecture on the concept of electrical energy, methods of generating it, how to measure electrical power, and the safe use of electricity and ways to benefit from it, in addition to introducing methods for reducing household electricity consumption.

   Moreover, Prof. Yasser Abdo discussed various energy sources, explaining the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy sources. He also introduced the students to several fundamental behavioral phenomena of light, including reflection, refraction, absorption, and diffraction.

   The organization of these events reaffirms Tanta University and the Faculty of Science’s commitment to broadening the scope of the Child University Program and providing children with distinguished educational and practical opportunities. This contributes to discovering their scientific and cultural interests and abilities at an early age while connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application.

   At the conclusion of the activities, Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in coordinating, preparing, and organizing the reception of the Child University students, as well as to all those who contributed to the success of the training day and enriched the students’ experience, showing the distinguished image of Tanta University and the Faculty of Science.
