As part of the activities of the Child University Program organized in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Tanta Faculty of Science welcomed participants in the Child University Program on Monday, July 27, 2026, for an interactive educational day aimed at developing their scientific and creative skills while introducing them to the fundamental sciences within the university environment.

   The children and their parents were welcomed by Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Zenhom Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Samir Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; and Dr. Eman Bakr, Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Science, with the participation of a number of faculty members and teaching assistants.

   The activities began with an introductory lecture delivered by Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din, who welcomed the children and introduced them to the history of the Faculty of Science, its various academic departments, its conventional and distinguished academic programs, and its modern specializations designed to meet the evolving needs of the labor market. She affirmed the faculty's commitment to promoting scientific awareness and fostering a spirit of innovation among young learners, highlighting its role in preparing generations capable of creativity and excellence.

   The program also included an educational tour of the Physics Department laboratories and the Geology Department museums, where the children were introduced to a range of scientific equipment and experiments and attended simplified explanations of fundamental concepts in physics and geology and their applications in everyday life. The theoretical explanations and practical demonstrations were delivered by Prof. Hamza Khalil, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Geology; Asst. Prof. Fatma Al-Zahraa Fakhry, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics; Researcher Abdel Aziz Abdel Aal from the Department of Physics; and Research Asmaa Zein from the Department of Physics. The children also participated in a variety of hands-on activities designed to enhance their observation and scientific thinking skills in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and active engagement.
