As part of Tanta University's commitment to community engagement by nurturing young minds and developing their scientific potential, and within the activities of the Child University Program organized in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Tanta Faculty of Science continued welcoming participants in the Child University Program for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. The children took part in an interactive educational experience that combined knowledge with practical learning while fostering a culture of scientific research and innovation.

   The children and their parents were welcomed by Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Zenhom Salem, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Samir Kamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; Prof. Ali Abdel Salam, Head of the Physics Department; Prof. Mohamed Abdel Wahed, Head of the Geology Department; Dr. Eman Bakr, Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Science; in addition to a distinguished group of faculty members and teaching assistants.

   The program featured an educational tour of the Physics Department laboratories and the Geology Department museums, where faculty members and teaching assistants from both departments provided theoretical explanations and practical demonstrations. The children were introduced to state-of-the-art scientific equipment and experiments, explored the fascinating world of rocks, minerals, and fossils, and participated in hands-on activities and interactive exercises designed to develop their scientific thinking, observation, and reasoning skills while inspiring their spirit of exploration. The activities took place in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, engagement, and creativity.

   Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim affirmed that Tanta University places human development at the forefront of its priorities and believes that genuine investment begins with identifying talented children and nurturing their scientific potential from an early age. He indicated that the Child University Program represents a successful model of integration between the university and the community, contributing to the preparation of a generation equipped with scientific thinking skills and capable of meeting the aspirations of the New Republic and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

   For her part, Prof. Abeer Abdel Hamid Alam Al-Din affirmed that the Faculty of Science is committed to employing its academic and research capabilities in service of the community by making its laboratories and scientific museums accessible to participants in the Child University Program. She added that this provides the children with an exceptional educational experience that combines knowledge with practical application, helps identify talented young learners, nurtures their passion for science, and reinforces the concept of learning through experimentation and exploration.
