As part of Tanta University's commitment to promoting responsible research practices and strengthening compliance with the ethical and legal standards guiding scientific research, a cooperation and coordination protocol was signed between the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) at the Faculty of Science and the Research Ethics Committee at the Faculty of Medicine.
The protocol underscores the significance of harmonizing procedures and streamlining the process of obtaining ethical approvals, particularly for joint research projects involving the use of animals, thereby ensuring full compliance with approved ethical standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Amgad Salama, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mohamed El-Badeiwy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Magdy Eissa, Professor at the ENT Department.
Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din emphasized that this collaboration represents an important step toward enhancing the quality of scientific research at the Faculty of Science and strengthening effective partnership with the Faculty of Medicine, thereby supporting the production of high-quality research that adheres to the international ethical standards.
Moreover, Prof. Mohamed Hantira noted that the signing of this protocol reflects the Faculty of Medicine's commitment to advancing the research system and ensuring full compliance with professional and ethical standards, particularly in collaborative research projects, in a manner that serves the community and further elevates the quality of scientific research conducted at the university.
