In the context of its efforts to support outstanding scientific activities and encourage students to engage in research, Faculty of Science at Tanta University (Department of Physics) organized the First Summer School in Physics. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Faculty Dean; Prof. Amgad Salama, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Ali Abdel Salam, Head of the Department of Physics, with distinguished scientific supervision by Dr. Shorouk El-Ashry, Professor at the Department of Physics.
The summer school was the result of a pioneering idea by its founders: Youssef Mohamed Abdel Maaboud Youssef, a fourth-year physics student, and Salma El-Sayed El-Sayed El-Nahhal, holder of a B.Sc. in Biophysics. They provided a remarkable model of student initiative and leadership, being the spark, originators, and organizers of this distinguished scientific event.
A host of academic staff members from the Department of Physics at Tanta University, participated in the school along with distinguished lecturers from Mansoura University and Al-Salam University. This made the school a national one, instead of a local event. It became an open scientific platform where expertise from different Egyptian universities interacted. The event was further enriched by the attendance of students from more than ten universities across Egypt, making it a unique venue for knowledge exchange and the creation of a stimulating scientific environment that fosters innovation.
The summer school covered advanced and diverse topics, including laser physics, high-energy physics, electronics, mathematical physics, programming, quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, astronomy, and plasma physics. The program combined theoretical and practical aspects to prepare a promising generation of researchers in advanced fields of physics.
