Prof. Kamal Okasha, Tanta University Vice President, “Funding a Research Project on Genetic Sequence of COVID-19 in Egypt”

 Prof. Kamal Okasha, Tanta University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, signed a contract for funding a research project by Research Fund of Tanta University in attendance of Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim. The research project is presented by Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Eid, Lecturer at Department of Botany and Microbiology.

Prof. Kamal Okasha indicated that the project aims to find out the geneticsequence of COVID-19 in Egypt and to control COVID-19 outbreak in order to enhance awareness about immunology and to know immune response genes effective against COVID-19. It will be conducted by a research team from Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science.

Furthermore, Prof. Kamal Okasha added that research projects financed by University Fund aim to help academic staff and researchers of the University to create research programs that cope with vision, mission and research plan of the University.In addition, these projects support research activities at faculties of the University and raise the level of scientific research at the University.
